Basic Qualifications:
Must have experience with COBOL, JCL, and DB2.
Core Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent combination of formal education, training, and
experience.
- Typically possesses 8 or more years combined experience performing, production support, systems analysis, system
requirements and developing and supporting large complex applications using various combinations of data bases, COTS packages and in-house applications on client server hardware.
- Demonstrated experience working with COTS vendors to identify, repair and install COTS application defects and patches.
- Demonstrated experience working with clients and development teams to analyze new business processes, and solutions that fit best within the the client#s portfolio.
- Demonstrated experience with one or more of the following mainframe skills: Java, Oracle, SQL Server, Windows 200x, Unix, SFTP, Server performance tools, and/or ClearCase.
- Demonstrated experience serving as a business process subject matter expert by gaining clients’ trust and respect, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated experience working with formal work request processing and formal compliance standards, such as SOX.
- Candidate must have the demonstrated ability to work well in a dynamic business environment with changing priorities.
- Must demonstrate excellent business mastery, including the ability to integrate work across relevant areas, develop the business and services to enhance customer satisfaction and productivity, manage risks and safety appropriately, develop and execute business plans, manage information, and provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.

Additional testing may be required as part of the selection process for this position.
Preferences:
Knowledge of the Edison SmartConnect program including the current customer meter reading business or the field service business; Knowledge of SCE’s CSS standardized architecture and processes.
Typical Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will provide technical subject matter expertise and operational support for Edison’s Smart Meter COTS packages and in-house applications. He/she will work directly with the SmartConnect Operations Center, Customer Service Business Unit (CSBU) clients, COTS vendors and development teams. Typical responsibilities for this position include: translating client functional requirements into system requirements and conceptual design; assessing the impact of new business requirements on existing CSBU business processes and applications; recommending solutions, process alternatives, and training opportunities; responding to and correcting production defects while sharing 24/7/365 on-call support with the Metering Systems team; providing design and technical assistance to development projects and COTS software vendors to solve business and technical matters; supporting medium to large project teams and leading small-sized enhancement projects; performing Ad Hoc analysis and supporting complex end-user developed models and tools; and performing other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
