We are a profitable, fast growing, 4-year old, stealth company looking for an addition to our development team. Our past success has put us in the nice position of being able to set our own course. We’ve had real gains from using cruft-free tech to enhance our successful, profitable, high-value-add service, so there is a wide latitude in using the best tool for the job. We use Python, Ruby, CouchDB, ajax push (aka Comet, e.g. Orbited, Juggernaunt, etc.) and the like; we develop on Mac or Linux; deploy on Centos. Most of our development is focused on features and business logic, and little emphasis on scaling (scaling is a “solved problem,” as they say). We strive for a rapid release tempo and plan accordingly- we release features in weeks not months.

Role: direct, hands on, design and development and coding. Ownership of large features/services and a key role in setting the technical direction of a (future) great company.

Experience: we are looking for talent over experience, and for “respect for the craft and love of the trade.” A craftsman and a hacker. 2 – 5yrs experience and an orientation to Linux, scripting languages and web tech(css, ajax, etc). Please no Java, .NET, C# or Windows 2003 experience.

We are in stealth mode, but will be very open with the right candidates so they have all the information they need to make a decision about their careers. As a team, there is a lot of passion for our business and our mission, and we want our next developer to share that passion. But deep love takes time, so we’ll save the rah-rah. We are confident however, that the right person, when explained our business will see a lot of indications that they could really get behind this.
