The Sr. Software Development Engineer in Test (Sr. SDET) is responsible for designing, developing and implementing a Java-based automation testing framework and test harness for use in validating new and existing component releases. We use an Agile development/test process and Java test technology, focusing primarily on white box and automation testing rather than black box testing. The QA team structure mirrors the development groups they work with and is involved in the entire software development lifecycle (SDLC); QA Analysts, Engineers and SDET’s are embedded with specific developer groups to increase team productivity and maximize test coverage.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
# Develop and implement performance test strategy and plans.
# Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend mitigation measures.
# Recommend solutions involving performance tuning and code optimization.
# Create a Java-based test framework and comprehensive test harness for performance testing using various tools such as Apache JMeter, HP LoadRunner, TestNG, Selenium RC, SOAP UI.
# Create tools and develop new features to continuously strengthen the test harness.
# Analyze system performance reports, perform code reviews and take necessary proactive measures to improve overall product quality.
Qualifications:
# 3-5 years experience in Java programming and/or performing automated UI, API, performance, functional and integration testing in a data driven, high traffic website and/or enterprise environment.
# Prior experience profiling, performance engineering and optimizing applications.
# Well versed with tools and technologies such as jProfiler, jvmpi, jstat, TPTP, jps, jconsole, jmeter (or other open sources tools), LoadRunner, WebPageTest, yourkit, SQL developer tool, shell or perl scripting and front end web technologies – css, JS, html, dHtml, http.
# Excellent communication and collaboration skills
# Demonstrated passion for quality and willingness to work hand-in-hand with developers.
# Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience).
